The Space Between Reaction and Regulation

Sculpture & Three-Dimensional Art · No. 05
Taking Flight
“Not everything that was discarded was meant to stay discarded.
Driftwood. Wire. Objects the world had already agreed to throw away. Together, they become a bird taking flight. What looked like ruin has been asked, gently, to become something else — and it agreed.
We are all, at some point, made partly of things we thought had been ruined. A friendship that broke. A body that changed. A version of ourselves the years insisted on rearranging. And then, somehow, the rearrangement began to fly.
This sculpture isn’t about recycling.
It’s about resurrection.
What in your life did you once believe was unusable that has since — quietly, without permission — become the very thing carrying you now?”
