In Motion

The grain of the wood becomes the grain of the body. Material and meaning are not two things. This figure does not represent motion. It IS motion — held long enough for a viewer to catch up.

We often imagine that stillness and movement are opposites. But every truly still person is quietly in motion. Breath moves. Attention moves. The mind rearranges its own furniture in the corner where no one can see it. Life, in a person, is never truly at rest.

This sculpture isn’t about dance.

It’s about the movement inside your own stillness.
