Serpent Knot

Some things have no ending because they were never meant to.

A deep relief of Norse knotwork carves itself into wood. There is no beginning. There is no end. Each line becomes the next line. To follow one thread is to be led back to every other thread.

This is what a life feels like from the inside. What we did at nineteen is still moving through what we do at forty. The person we forgave in one decade turns out to have shaped how we love in the next. Nothing in a human being is disconnected from anything else in that human being.

This carving isn’t about ancient art.

It’s about the pattern still unfolding inside you.

Which thread of your life did you think you had finished with — that is quietly still weaving through everything you do today?
