Becoming

“Some transformations refuse to be neat.

Deep indigo collides with burnt sienna and gold. Layer over layer. Nothing is trying to resolve. And yet, the more you look, the more clear it becomes: the painting is not chaos. It is arrival, still in motion.

We are taught to think of becoming as a straight line. School, then work, then love, then meaning. But no one who has actually become anything remembers it that way. It was messier. It was slower. It was made of collisions.

This painting isn’t asking you to admire the layers.

It’s asking you to trust your own.
