The Space Between Reaction and Regulation

“Some prayers are made of turning.
Whirling Dervishes. White robes in circular motion. The right hand reaches up to receive; the left turns down to give. This is a prayer performed with the whole body, at a speed that eventually turns the mind quiet.
We live inside minds that rarely stop. We meditate. We journal. We try to think our way to peace. But the oldest wisdom traditions of the world all understood something we have partly forgotten — that some kinds of stillness can only be reached by moving. That the body sometimes has to be tired enough for the mind to finally sit down.
This image isn’t about a religion.
It’s about your body’s underused capacity to help you find peace.
What movement could you offer your body this week — not for fitness, but as a way of finally letting your mind quiet down?”
