Indigo Press

Some meditations disguise themselves as work.

Indian block printing. A finished indigo and white textile. Wooden printing blocks are still nearby. The pattern was not made by inspiration. It was made by repetition — the same block, the same movement, thousands of times, until a piece of cloth became something a person could love.

We are taught to treat repetition as boredom. But most of the practices that hold a life together are repetitions. The way we make the same tea in the morning. The way we say the same goodnight. The way we place the same block, again, on the same cloth, because the pattern is still being made.

This piece isn’t about a printing technique.

It’s about your relationship with repetition.

Which small repetition in your life is quietly your prayer — even though you have never named it that?
