Biography
Amara Diallo is an award-winning documentary photographer whose work explores identity, migration, and belonging across West Africa. Trained in Dakar and Paris, she has spent the last fifteen years photographing the interior lives of the people she comes from.
Her images have been exhibited at the Fondation Cartier (Paris), the LagosPhoto Festival, and the Aperture Gallery (New York). Her monograph “Where We Wait” (2024) was longlisted for the Prix Elysée.
She currently divides her time between Dakar and Paris, and teaches a masterclass on documentary practice at the École des Sables.
