Astrocytes and Parkinson’s Disease
Non-neuronal contributions to a classically neuronal disorder.
Parkinson’s disease is defined by the loss of midbrain dopamine neurons. Astrocytes may contribute to both the vulnerability of those neurons and the progression of pathology.
