Proposed Models

Models are hypotheses about how reality is structured. These are the ones the Institute is putting forward for testing.

Every model here is provisional. We publish them so they can be examined honestly — by us, by collaborators, and by anyone who finds them useful, incomplete, or wrong.

Model 01 — The Experience Loop

A five-stage conceptual sequence in which incoming information is received, predicted, physiologically coordinated, experienced, and laid down as memory / future expectation. Not a rigid biological pipeline; a working model for teaching.

  • Stage 1 — Input (external + interoceptive).
  • Stage 2 — Prediction (based on history, context, expectation).
  • Stage 3 — Physiological Coordination.
  • Stage 4 — Lived Experience (the meaning that becomes conscious).
  • Stage 5 — Memory & Future Prediction (the loop closes).

Model 02 — The Visible / Beneath Framework

A model for interpreting behavior. Above the surface: the reaction, the outcome, the observable event. Beneath: body tension, expectation, memory, context, need. Both matter; neither is sufficient alone.

Model 03 — Contextual Regulation

A regulation model that treats context as a first-class variable. Rather than prescribing one technique, it asks: what does the nervous system in this context, at this intensity, with this history, most need?

Model 04 — The Language Step

A model of change that places naming at the center. The act of putting language on an experience is proposed as a distinct cognitive-somatic operation with measurable downstream effects on regulation and choice.

What proposed models are not

  • They are not diagnostic instruments.
  • They are not validated in the sense a clinical scale is validated.
  • They are not final. Every model here is expected to be revised.
