When you receive any kind of score, the first question is always: what does this actually mean? Your NSIQ score is not a grade. It is a reflection of your current relationship with your nervous system, specifically how much visibility you have into what drives your reactions, and how often you can choose your response rather than simply executing one.
Here is what your NSIQ score can genuinely tell you.
It Tells You About Your Current Awareness Level
Your NSIQ score reflects how much conscious access you currently have to your own nervous system patterns. Research on interoceptive accuracy demonstrates that people vary significantly in their ability to detect and interpret internal physiological signals, and this ability directly correlates with emotional regulation capacity (Garfinkel et al., 2015).
A higher score indicates that you frequently notice when your nervous system shifts states, you can often identify what triggered the shift, and you regularly exercise choice in how you respond. A lower score indicates these processes are currently happening below your conscious awareness more often than not.
Neither position is permanent.
