What Culture Encodes
Culture teaches a nervous system what to want, what to fear, what to hide, and what to reach for. It does this not through argument but through repetition — the tone of ordinary encounters, the visible rewards and quiet punishments, the shape of what is considered normal.
Why It Is So Hard to See
Culture is hard to see because it does not present itself as culture. It presents itself as reality. Only when a person encounters a different culture — or a person shaped by one — do they begin to notice that some of what they took for granted was, in fact, learned.
The Modest Beginning
You do not have to leave your culture to see it. You have to ask, in ordinary moments, what your Framework is doing that a Framework shaped elsewhere would not do. That question is the first light in the water.
Culture is what your Framework absorbed without ever being told it was learning.
