Curiosity and Neuroplasticity
Why insight without curiosity fails to consolidate.
Insights arrive; changes stick. The difference between the two is usually curiosity. The neuroplasticity that consolidates new patterns preferentially engages when the nervous system is in the exploratory, dopaminergic state that curiosity produces.

A cognitive insight received in a state of judgement rarely consolidates. The same insight held in curiosity is far more likely to change behaviour weeks later.

The implication is practical. Cultivating the state of curiosity matters more than manufacturing insights. Curiosity is the field in which insight becomes durable.
