Definition
Reversibility refers to the finding that many epigenetic marks are not permanent — they can change with time, treatment, or environmental change. This is one of the more genuinely hopeful findings in the field.
Why it matters
The reversibility narrative is often used well (to counter fatalism) and sometimes overstated (to sell dubious interventions). Understanding the actual evidence protects both.
The Science
Some epigenetic changes reverse with time, medication (e.g., some psychiatric drugs), exercise, environmental change, and specific interventions. Others are more stable. Which reverse under which conditions is under active investigation.

Clinical Implications
Take reversibility as scientifically respectable optimism, not a marketing promise.
Practical Application
Some of what your body learned biologically can, over time, be unlearned. That is real. It is not instant.
