Hospital design is the deliberate use of architecture, light, sound, materials, and layout to support healing and reduce iatrogenic harm.
Why it matters
Evidence-based hospital design is real, effective, and often ignored.
The Science
Ulrich, Wilson, and others have documented that design affects healing rates, medication errors, patient satisfaction, and staff turnover. Single rooms reduce infection; nature views reduce analgesic use; noise reduction improves sleep.

Advocacy for design improvements is legitimate clinical work.
Practical Application
If a hospital feels awful, that is not you being fragile. That is design.
