How Astrocytes Communicate with Neurons
Calcium waves, gliotransmitters, and slow reciprocal signaling.
Astrocyte-to-neuron communication does not use action potentials. It uses a slower, chemically diverse repertoire that can nonetheless powerfully influence neural activity.
